Spokane Highland Games

The Highland dance competition is back at the Spokane Scottish Highland Games. We invite you to join us for an exciting day of dancing and celebration with events for all skill levels. Our judge for this year is Megan Ashworth from San Diego, California, and the competition features our Lilac City Choreography Challenge.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • The competition will be held on August 3 at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center, 404 N. Havana St., Spokane, WA 99202. Free parking is available.

  • The competition starts at 9:45 am for all dancers.

  • ​Check-in for dancers to receive their gate passes will begin at 8:30 am at the Main Gate.

  • Check-in for the dance competition will begin at 9:15 am at the Dance Stage.

  • ​The Ticket Booth at the Main Gate will be open at 8:00 am to accommodate the purchase of tickets for accompanying family and friends.​ (Main Gate opens to the public at 9:00 am.)

  • This year's dance judge will be Megan Ashworth from San Diego.

Lilac City Choreography Challenge:

  • The Lilac City Choreography Challenge is open to Intermediate and Premier dancers only.

  • Solo Choreography Requirements: Choreography must include Highland or National movements and have Celtic-themed music. Each performance is limited to a maximum of 2 minutes.

  • Please email choreography music to the competition organizer at victoria.lchd@gmail.com before July 22, and bring a backup copy of your music on your phone.

Beginner & Novice:

Premier:

DANCE ENTRY FEES

  • ​Primary                                               ~ $ 5 per dance for up to four (4) dances

  • Beginner                                             ~ $ 8 per dance for up to five (5) dances

  • Novice                                                 ~ $40 for five (5) dances

  • Intermediate                                       ~ $40 for five (5) dances

  • Premier (under 16)                            ~ $48 for five (5) dances

  • Premier (16 and over)                        ~ $52 for five (5) dances

  • Lilac City Choreography Challenge ~ $15 for a single dance

  • Note 1: A $2.00 ScotDance fee is included in your dance entry fee.​

  • ​Note 2: Entry Fees are not refundable.
